Health Checks & Load Balancing

Explore how systems monitor service health and distribute traffic across healthy instances

Load Balancing Strategy

Health Check Settings

5s
3 failures

Try This:

  1. Send several requests and observe how they are distributed based on the load balancing strategy
  2. Toggle an instance to unhealthy and watch traffic automatically avoid it
  3. Compare round-robin vs least-connections strategies with uneven traffic
  4. Mark all instances unhealthy and observe how requests fail when no healthy instances are available

No completed requests yet

How it works:

  • Health Checks: System periodically checks instance health
  • Failure Detection: After 3 consecutive failures, instance marked unhealthy
  • Load Balancing: Traffic only routed to healthy instances
  • Auto Recovery: Unhealthy instances automatically recover when health checks pass
